A new Emmerdale trailer has teased danger for Mackenzie Boyd, as John Sugden is finally rumbled.
In next week's episodes, the walls continue to close in on the villain when Nate Robinson's murder investigation is reopened.
After finding an issue with Owen Michael's suicide note – which was forged by John – the police question if he really was responsible for Nate's death. John is filled with fear as the detectives once again sniff around the village for answers.
Meanwhile, John's husband Aaron Dingle and half-brother Robert Sugden finally admit their true feelings and end up sleeping together. Devastated by his actions, Aaron decides it's best to move away and John jumps at the chance to escape his problems.

The trailer, posted on Emmerdale's Instagram account, sees Aaron sharing his plan with his relieved husband. "All we have to do is pack our bags and we leave the village," he tells John.
However, it won't be that easy for the medic to flee, as a run-in with Mack leads to a shocking discovery. Next week, Mack accepts a lift in John's van, where he comes across a vital clue regarding the villain's antics.

In the trailer, Mack is seen frantically running through the woods, after John confronts him about his discovery. "I'm guessing you've joined up the dots," John says menacingly.
The clip, which was first teased in the soap's New Years Eve episode, promises danger for Mack as he trips over while being chased and lays helplessly on the ground.
The farmhand is at the mercy of John, who towers over him with a huge rock. Despite Mack's pleas, it seems like John has claimed his next victim as he appears to slam the rock towards Mack's head.
"Guess I really am the bad guy," John concludes as the trailer ends.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
