Emmerdale's Cain Dingle is pushed to breaking point next week after receiving the news that his son's killer has been exposed.
Cain struggles to cope after the police suggest that dangerous Owen – the man who recently spiked Robert Sugden – seems to have been responsible for Nate Robinson's death.
Upcoming episodes see John Sugden – Nate's real killer – scheme to frame Owen for the crime.
When Owen is found dead in his home, the police locate a supposed "suicide note" in which he seemingly takes the blame for Nate's death.

"Unfortunately, it sends Cain spiralling. As Owen was a patient at the local doctors surgery, Cain fires endless questions at Liam about Owen, desperate to learn more about his son's killer – who he will now never be able to look in the eye and tell him the pain he's caused."

When John calls round to check in on Cain, he's troubled to see the state the grieving dad is in.
Liam discusses Cain’s state of mind with John, and recalls the pain of losing a child, which the doctor knows only too well.
Tormented over robbing Cain of the chance to confront the man he believes took his offspring away, a remorseful John reaches out to a helpline again hoping to alleviate his guilt.
Speaking to his usual volunteer, John is thoughtful when they suggest the pair speak on a call, rather than remote message…
