Emmerdale's Paddy Dingle has been left feeling devastated after a shocking outburst from his dad Bear Wolf following a brutal dog attack.

Viewers will know that Paddy suspects his dad Bear has got dementia and in scenes that aired on Friday, a furious Bear attacked his son on the street.

In today's episode, Paddy spotted a sheep caught in a fence on Celia’s farm and rushed off to try and help it out of the predicament.

After managing to free the sheep, he froze in terror when he was approached by an aggressive dog. The dog attacked Paddy and Bear managed to save him from its grip, but not before Paddy was grievously injured.

Mandy was left shocked and appalled when Bear turned Paddy’s life-threatening attack into an opportunity to assassinate his son’s character.

"That's half your problem lad," Bear said. "You never do. Don't you get sick of people walking all over you? How many people do you let take advantage of you? You just roll over day in, day out."

In the angry outburst, Bear mentioned his son's attempted suicide, saying: "I'm sick of us all walking around on eggshells in case he does something stupid again."

After Mandy hustled Bear out of the room and Paddy asked her to leave, it was clear that his father's words resonated with Paddy who broke down and burst into tears.
