Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale star Jaye Griffiths has confirmed that new villain Celia Daniels will undergo a major change.
The actor, who has previously appeared on The Bill and Casualty, was confirmed to be playing farmer Celia in an announcement last month, with the "no-nonsense" newcomer making her debut in Monday's (30 June) episode.
It has already been confirmed that Celia will ruffle more than a few feathers upon her arrival in the Dales, though Griffiths said (via MirrorOnline) that her character would mellow out after a fiery start.
"I know viewers will think she is a villain at the start, but there is also a lot more to her and she will calm down," said the actor. "She will be manipulating people too. My advice to all the villagers is give Celia what she wants then they won’t have to watch out!

"She is such a strange, complex woman. There is more to come. It is so much fun. Celia wears farm clothes but there is not a scrap of mud on her. She is immaculate. She wears a cravat and there is a reason for that…"
While Celia may eventually calm down, it will be a fiery start for the newcomer as she clashes with Moira and Paddy Dingle, the latter of whom is involved in a dramatic incident involving one of Celia's security dogs.
"Celia’s large, beautiful Alsatian bites him," Griffiths told Inside Soap. "The attack is so savage it ruptures an artery. It’s not a little nip. Celia’s response is to deny she even has a dog, when she clearly does!

"If she says it enough times, Paddy will start to doubt his own sanity – that’s how she works. She reframes reality to shut you down, contradicts herself and forgets which lies she’s told people so nothing is ever her fault – it’s incredibly difficult to argue with."
The actor, who also had a recurring role in Silent Witness, also explained the characteristics that drew her to the role, sharing it was "rare" to portray an "unapologetic" woman who doesn't "conform or care".
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
