Emmerdale's Natalie Ann Jamieson has explained Amy and Matty Barton's upcoming story, which will see them facing a life-changing decision.
In next week's episodes, Amy considers expanding her family after helping Moira Dingle look after Frankie Robinson. Spending time with Frankie soon makes Amy long for a child of her own, and her feelings don't go unnoticed.
"Amy is playing with Frankie, who's being very cute. She gets a little bit broody and Moira spots it straight away," said Amy actor Jamieson.

"I think this all happens very fast for Amy. It happens there and then - she's like: 'Oh my God, this is what I want and I want it with Matty,'" the star shared.

"She loves her son Kyle but she's always regretted not being there when he was little. If she could have that opportunity again to be there for somebody and do it properly, that would be amazing for Amy."
Moira encourages her daughter-in-law to speak to Matty about her desires, leading to an awkward conversation between the couple. Amy reveals that she wants to look into adopting a child, but a surprised Matty needs more time to think about the huge idea.
Addressing Matty's hesitation, Jamieson explained: "There's a whole other layer to it - have they previously had this conversation? Maybe briefly.

"But they haven't discussed how it would be and how they would go about it, what route they would take. But Amy has it in her head and she's really pitching for it..."
Meanwhile, excited Amy puts all of her efforts into her family plans, quickly scouting out a house, even before informing Matty.
"Before this, they've supposed to have been saving their money to buy a house, but instead she's spoken to Kim and is planning to rent a house instead because she wants it immediately so she can put this plan into action."
She added: "This is a surprise for Matty, because as far as he knew, their long-term plan was to save up to buy a house but now she's gone and put this into place."
