Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale star Michael Parr has addressed his character Ross Barton's romance with Steph Miligan.
Ross returned to the village in October, and has already found himself in several precarious situations.
He notably made a deal with Kim Tate after he picked the wrong target when he made a failed attempt to steal her car.
The resident bad boy has also crossed paths with dangerous newcomer Jade, who is set to kidnap April Windsor in upcoming scenes.

Amongst all the drama, Ross recently spent the night with Steph, who arrived in the Dales earlier this month. Their relationship has since remained casual.
Speaking to Digital Spy and other media, Parr opened up about Ross and Steph's romance, explaining that they are "distracting" each other from the challenges in their lives.
"It's been a lot of fun at the minute. From what we've shot we haven't seen too much of them. I think it's just a bit of fun for each other," he said.
"They're just distracting each other from what's going on in their real lives. Georgia [Jay, who plays Steph] has been great to work with, she's a great addition to the show."

The actor went on to reveal whether Ross could commit to another long-term relationship following the tragic death of his first love Donna Windsor in 2014.
"From my point of view, I don't want to see him fall in love and get married and have kids, because Ross's USP is that he's kind of a loner and you can attach him to different people's storylines," he said. "So, I would like to keep him as a rogue."
Parr went on to explain that Ross's "abandonment issues" and chaotic lifestyle affect his ability to trust a new romantic interest.
"He doesn't know where he stands with people who are telling him they love him because he always thinks there's an agenda," he said.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
