Emmerdale airs a life-or-death showdown as Mackenzie Boyd's kidnap ordeal comes to a head in the show's Christmas episodes.
Show bosses are lining up a dramatic gunshot cliffhanger as Mackenzie, Charity Dingle and dangerous gangster Damon 'Harry' Harris all go head-to-head next week.
The ITV soap kicked off a major storyline twist on Monday (December 18) as Mack was kidnapped by Harry, who's the vengeful father of Chloe Harris.
Over the coming days, Mack will be held captive by Harry in a dark and gloomy factory. However, with more twists and turns ahead, next week's episodes open with the building empty and Mackenzie nowhere to be seen.

Back at Harry's house, Chloe lies to her dangerous father about her most recent actions. Harry plays along, despite knowing that Chloe intervened by setting Mack free.
Chloe sneaks back to Keepers Cottage to seek help, but Harry catches her in the act and forces her into the back of a car.
This nasty incident is witnessed by Charity and Chas Dingle, who realise that it's all connected to Mack's disappearance.
Charity and Chas follow Harry and Chloe, with the journey ending at the factory.

By this point, Mack is back in Harry's clutches and he's in a bad way after being attacked. Chloe is horrified as her dad prepares to deliver another brutal beating.
Charity and Chas creep through the factory as the drama unfolds. Chas gets caught by one of Harry's heavies as she tries to call the police, but is saved when Charity attacks the thug with a plank to the head.
Chas resumes her mission to call the police, while Charity goes deeper into the factory to help Mack.
A nail-biting moment follows as Harry pulls out his gun to finish off Mack for good.

Charity quietly approaches from behind but Mack discreetly warns her to stay away, not wanting her to risk her own safety.
Charity leaps in to defend Mack and ends up in a scuffle with Harry, which only ends when a gunshot goes off. Will someone be injured – or worse?
