When Amit arrived in the village during Super Soap Week, he was visibly uncomfortable in Rishi's old home of Holdgate. This culminated in him suffering a panic attack.
Suni demanded answers when Amit let slip that he'd been in the house before.

Reluctantly, Amit revealed that he'd clashed with Rishi over Jai's adoption, leading to a showdown at the top of the stairs at Holdgate.
Amit recalled: "We were up there and I was holding his shirt so he couldn't run away, begging him almost. Hating myself for doing it, hating him for making me.
"Then he grabbed my hand and I was still holding his shirt. He yanked it, he simply lost his balance."

Amit insisted that he did not push Rishi, but he did abandon him at his death scene after checking his pulse and realising that he'd already passed away.
Suni later shared the truth with his boyfriend Nicky Miligan, but chose not to tell anybody else what had happened.
