Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale's Amit Sharma is considering an exit from the village as he struggles to connect with family after the death of his brother Rishi Sharma.
Following his arrival in the Dales, Amit shocked Suni by confessing that he was in the village on the day of Rishi's death.
While Amit wasn't directly responsible for his brother's death he asked his son to keep his presence at the Holdgate a secret, with Suni later confiding in his boyfriend Nicky Milligan about the revelation.
In scenes set to air next week, Suni will be left shocked when Amit announces his plans to return to India, having failed to connect with Laurel and the rest of his family.

Desperate to see his dad stick around in the village, Suni sets about trying to change Laurel's opinion of Amit while simultaneously pleading with his father to reconsider his plans about leaving.
However, Laurel is still unsure about Amit due to his behaviour towards Suni's boyfriend Nicky, which she has misjudged as homophobia.
Curious to understand more about Amit's behaviour towards him, Laurel approaches Nicky and asks about why Amit punched him a few weeks ago. But the pair are unaware that Amit is listening to their conversation, terrified that his secret will get out.
Later on, Suni plans a night out with Nicky, Gabby and Ethan for the next day. However, his their relationship quickly goes south when Suni doubts whether or not he can trust Nicky to keep Amit's secret, leading him to call time on their relationship.

Suni instantly regrets his decision to dump Nicky. That also drives a wedge between him and Amit, leaving the father and son's relationship seemingly broken.
But with Amit set to exit the Dales, will he be able to mend the rifts in his family before he goes? And will Suni and Nicky be able to salvage their relationship?
