Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale stars Jeff Hordley and Will Ash have responded to Chas Dingle's sinister new storyline.

Wednesday's episode (October 11) featured a worrying turn of events for Chas, who was kidnapped by dangerous gangster Harry.

Harry has recently been trying to charm Chas while using the fake identity of 'Simon', but he was always pursuing her with an ulterior motive.

The villain is out for revenge against Chas' half-brothers Cain and Caleb now that his dodgy dealings at the car company have been stamped out.

Emmerdale bosses have revealed that dramatic scenes in the next few days will focus on Cain and Caleb as they unite and desperately try to get Chas back.

Speaking to Digital Spy and other media, Will – who plays Caleb – teased: "Caleb knows that the Dingle family are in big trouble. Chas is in proper, proper danger.

"Caleb first got involved with Harry because he was using Caleb's car firm to transport guns. That's certainly not Caleb's area of expertise at all and it's not Cain's world either. That's the world that Harry operates in, so he's got much more edge than Caleb and Cain have. They know that they're out of their depth dealing with someone like that."

Asked which of the brothers is most likely to kill Harry if things get out of hand, Jeff – who plays Cain – laughed: "I'd probably say Cain. He's more capable of doing that. He's still never done it, though!

"Sometimes Caleb is there to bring Cain around and go: 'Don't do that'. I think they complement each other in different ways. They lead each other down paths that the other wouldn't normally do – for good, for bad."

Will agreed: "Cain is involved in that dark world and will operate in it, but Caleb knows where the line is. I don't think you'd ever get Caleb torturing anyone or trying to get a confession out of someone, whereas Cain is more likely to do that.

"Cain is more predisposed to being aggressive and violent, while Caleb is more considered. I think there's room for both of them."
