Emmerdale star Jay Kontzle has opened up about his boyband past and Britain's Got Talent stint.

The actor, who plays Billy Fletcher on the ITV soap, was previously in a boyband called The Mend who auditioned for the UK talent show in 2012.

They had previously auditioned for The X Factor in 2011, but were asked to leave at the bootcamp stage due to already having a management deal.
