Emmerdale's Chas Dingle makes shock decision over Al after ultimatum

Chas Dingle has made a shocking decision over her affair with Al Chapman in Emmerdale.

Last week, Aaron gave Chas an ultimatum that she needed to walk away from Al or she'd lose him forever. While Chas promised she'd sort the situation, Monday's (October 10) episode revealed she had other plans.

Chas took Aaron aside to chide him about slugging Al last week, but Aaron warned she is in no position to be criticising him.

When Chas insisted she was only worried about Aaron getting arrested again, Aaron claimed that Al had too much pride to go to police.

There was an awkward scene where a loved-up Kerry brought a very uncomfortable Al into the Woolpack for lunch, forcing Chas to turn over bartender duties to Bob so she could get away.

The situation got even more awkward when Paddy showed up, as he was worried Chas wasn't sounding herself on the phone earlier. Faith and an irritated Aaron soon joined them for a drink, with Al close by.

The two eventually met up in the forest to talk through everything, but rather than call time, Chas made a surprising decision about her future with Al.

"I think I might have lost my mind, but I think I love you," she admitted. "I know I said it was bonkers and I have no idea what happens next, but I can't give you up, Al. I've been pretending that I can but I can't."

Al was most surprised by Chas' declaration of love, admitting he thought Chas had called him to meet in order to split up with him.

"That would be the more sensible option for all of us, let's face it, but life doesn't work like that. Does it?" she told him.

Chas explained she'd need to stay with Faith for now, but hinted there would be a future beyond that. The episode closed with the two making the most of their time alone…
