Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale has confirmed that Bernice Blackstock's return scenes will air next week.
Samantha Giles is reprising her role as Bernice, who was last seen in the village in November 2019.
Bernice's ex-partner Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) was devastated when she left Emmerdale, but has since moved on with his life by getting engaged to Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi).
The big question now is whether Bernice's reappearance could throw a spanner in the works for the pair's relationship.

Bernice's daughter Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) is among the first to see her back in the village.
Gabby is stunned to spot her mum and wonders how Bernice's presence will affect her current set-up with the Tates at Home Farm.
Liam also sees Bernice, but happens to be drunk at the time and wrongly assumes that he's seeing things.

Later on, Liam convinces Leyla that they should bring their wedding forward, as Leyla's dream venue has suddenly become available.

Speaking about Bernice's comeback recently, Samantha commented: "As an actress leaving a role that you love is always a hard decision and I'd been lucky to work so consistently for so long, which is rare in our business, so I knew the time had come to be brave and take the leap back in 2019 to pursue my other passion of writing and focus on getting my first book published.
"I've now had such a lovely response with Rosemary and The Witches of Pendle Hill and the down time of the pandemic meant I was able to complete my next two books.

"I'm a big believer in fate so when Emmerdale offered me the chance to return as Bernice I took it as a sign that it was meant to be.
"I'm delighted to be returning to play out Bernice's future storylines which I’m sure are going to keep the audience entertained.
"She certainly arrives back with a bang, that's all I'm allowed to say right now and I'm looking forward to releasing my next two books whilst juggling her hectic on-screen life!"
Emmerdale airs Bernice's return on Thursday, May 27 at 7pm and 8pm on ITV.
