Emmerdale's Charity Dingle resorts to blackmail next week as she desperately tries to get herself out of trouble with Vanessa Woodfield.
Charity (Emma Atkins) was left devastated last night as Vanessa discovered that she'd shared a secret kiss with newcomer Mackenzie Boyd. Distraught by this betrayal, Vanessa told Charity not to contact her for the foreseeable future.
In next week's episodes, Charity refuses to give up on Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick) and digs for further information on Mackenzie, who is Moira Dingle's estranged brother.
Charity explains to Cain Dingle that she needs Mackenzie to back her up over how their kiss meant nothing.

Later, Charity spies an opportunity when she witnesses Mackenzie stealing Jamie Tate's car.
Charity decides to blackmail Mackenzie, threatening to tell Jamie the truth unless he helps her by backing up her story to Vanessa.
Sadly for Charity, her efforts backfire when Vanessa's sister Tracy overhears the conversation and is more disgusted with her than ever.
Charity also faces a backlash from her granddaughter Sarah and son Noah after she confesses to them about cheating on Vanessa.

Noah accuses Charity of ruining everything, which leads to her hitting the bottle for comfort.
The following day, Tracy is appalled to find that Charity is still drinking. Tracy refuses to be swayed by Charity's self-pity, insisting that she brought this on herself.
Charity soon comes up with another plan, hoping to take Johnny to see Vanessa and remind her of the happy family life they once had.
Tracy shocks Charity by revealing that Johnny is already with Vanessa, before dropping another bombshell that shatters her hopes of a reconciliation.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
