Emmerdale star Danny Miller has hinted at what Aaron Dingle's love life could look like in the future now that Robert Sugden is out of the picture.

Robron fans were left devastated when Ryan Hawley confirmed he was exiting the ITV soap, and the fan-favourite relationship came to a heartbreaking end when Robert was sent to prison for 14 years and transferred to a facility on the Isle of Wight.

Aaron was later devastated even further when he found out that Robert was beginning divorce proceedings, not realising that Robert didn't want his husband to put his life on hold while waiting for his release.

But in tonight's (August 27) young Dingle special episode of Emmerdale Family Trees, actor Danny Miller was on hand to reflect on Aaron's future without the love of his life, and it seems that he's open to Aaron finding love again... one day.

"I'm sure there's somebody out there somewhere that could maybe one day live up to Robert," Danny said.

During the episode, Danny and his co-stars also reflected on Aaron's coming out storyline and the impact that it had on viewers.

"Once that storyline came out so many people got in touch with Danny and said, 'That was me, you helped me come out'," Isabel Hodgins, who plays Victoria Sugden said.

"I think it certainly encouraged people to certainly realise that it's ok to be gay," Danny added.

The soap recently revisited Aaron's heartbreak during one of its special lockdown episodes when a letter arrived for Aaron from the prison.

Despite Cain (Jeff Hordley) initially hiding the letter from his nephew, Aaron did ultimately get to read Robert's words, which included an apology for how things ended between them.

Meanwhile, recent rumours have suggested that Aaron could be getting a new love interest after crossing paths with someone from his past. Could Aaron be ready to move on from Robert?

Emmerdale currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7pm on ITV. Emmerdale Family Trees continues next Thursday (September 3) at 7pm on ITV.
