Emmerdale is taking a unique approach to the challenges posed by social distancing, but their intimate two-hander episodes have been going down well with viewers.
Nevertheless, Aaron Anthony – who plays Ellis Chapman – is still feeling "slightly apprehensive" about his upcoming lockdown episode with Mark Charnock and Michael Wildman.
The episode promises plenty of drama, with Ellis inviting his father Al to stay with him and Marlon. Marlon is furious with Ellis, who should've known better than to welcome his nemesis into their home.

Despite a promising storyline and the other episodes' successes, Aaron admitted that he's worried how fans will receive the three-hander. "I am slightly apprehensive about how the episode will be received," he shared, "but I think people will be open minded."

The actor said that he hoped viewers would "take comfort" in the fact that even their favourite soap characters are trying to navigate "a new normal".
He explained: "Nothing looks the same, so all we can do is try to embrace every change as a chance to maybe look differently or more deeply at something.

"To be honest, I think people will take comfort in the fact that even these characters that they're used to seeing week in week out are going through this too."
Aaron has also hinted at a "more intense" episode than usual for Al, Ellis, and Marlon, but conceded that it would be "weird" if it wasn't. "I think life feels more intense at the moment," he said.
"As we're all experiencing, being stuck in the house, and without a lot of our usual distractions, is strange and sometimes strenuous and that's what we're putting on screen. So, in its very nature it is intense."
Emmerdale currently airs on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7pm on ITV as part of a new strategy to keep the soap on air throughout the pandemic.
