Emmerdale's Harriet Finch looks to be playing with fire when it comes to her relationship with corrupt cop DI Mark Malone, as the pair ended up hooking up... in the church, no less.
Last week, the long-running ITV soap confirmed the characters shared a romantic past and tonight's episode (May 18) began with policewoman-turned-vicar Harriet (Katherine Dow Blyton) in the middle of a row with Malone (Mark Womack) in her place of work as she ordered him to leave her alone.
"What do you want?" she demanded, as he slyly replied with a smirk: "A hotel room?"

"Oh, so you can get one over on Will?" Harriet snapped back, referring to Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) and the dodgy dealings he's been doing on Malone's behalf recently. "You've already had him beaten to a pulp, is that not enough?"

But it seems all of her protestations fell on deaf ears as, later on, Will's daughter Dawn (Olivia Bromley) rocked up to the church to get some advice about her son Lucas, and it was revealed that Harriet had slept with Malone.
As the soap cut to a scene of Malone buttoning up his shirt, Harriet deceivingly told Dawn that she'd been busy writing a sermon with her headphones in.

"And that is why you were brilliant undercover," Malone later said, emerging from behind the curtain and admiring Harriet's lies.
"All of that was real," she argued, before telling Malone that what they'd just done was a "big mistake".
"Which you would've made twice, if Dawn hadn't walked in," he shot back as he made for the door. "Let me know when we're doing it again."
His hopeful statement wasn't an empty one, either. Later, in the midst of making dinner for Dawn, Dawn's boyfriend Billy Fletcher and an unsuspecting Will, Harriet received a text message from Malone asking whether she was free to meet him tomorrow.
Viewers didn't get a chance to see Harriet's reply, so they'll just have to see what's in store for the unlikely pair. Will Harriet find herself tempted again?
Emmerdale currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7pm on ITV.
