Emmerdale star Max Parker has suggested that Luke Posner could be dumped by Victoria Barton, after they take their relationship to the next level.

Scenes airing next week will see Victoria and Luke sleeping together – but Victoria is unsure about whether their romance should continue.

"She might well do," Parker, who plays Luke, told Digital Spy and other media when asked if Victoria will choose to end things.

"She's been very honest. She's got to be very honest with herself and him. Is she telling the truth? Does she mean it? I guess we'll find out."

Parker added that their relationship is complicated for both Victoria and Luke, as they're forced to confront their feelings.

"Next week, they do give it a go and they are honest about their feelings, but then the bad feelings also come about," he explained. "It gets to a point where they take it to the next level and it's just whether they need to decide what's best.

"It's such a sensitive situation that they're in. There's also the christening, and Aaron's back, so it's a big eye opener for both Luke and Victoria."

The star also said that it's unclear whether Luke is in love with Victoria, and doesn't think Luke will be put in a position where he has to choose between Victoria and his mother Wendy.

"I don't think he can [choose] and I don't think he will," he commented.

"I don't think Luke was the favourite child, and I don't think he was necessarily always close to his mum. In a weird way it brought them a lot closer when Lee died.

"At the end of the day he moved to the village for his mum, not Victoria, but we don't know yet whether he is feeling love for Victoria. So the choice hasn't been made yet."

And regarding baby Harry, Parker said: "He really does like Harry and he doesn't want to ruin it for his mum, and he doesn't want to come across possessive or entitled to his nephew when it's all been allowed in via Victoria, so it's got to be very sensitive.

"We've seen a lot of sensitive Luke and a lot of sensitive Victoria.

"I think people want to see them happy – and whether they are together or not together, I think that's what the audience want to root for."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV.
