Emmerdale's Aaron Dingle hit a new low tonight after he accidentally injured his sister Liv when she got caught up in his violent outburst.

Tonight's (December 12) double bill saw Aaron (Danny Miller) strike out against Luke (Max Parker) and Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) as he continued to terrorise the family after their move to the village.

While Wendy was left terrified when she realised she was being followed in her, fearing it to be Aaron attempting to run her off the road, it was soon confirmed that Wendy was only being followed by her concerned new neighbour Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw).

But although a shaken Wendy didn't end up being Aaron's target, the same couldn't be said for her son Luke, who was left facing down an increasingly angry Aaron.

"Look, I'd happily go anywhere, but I can't leave my mum on her own, can I?" Luke argued. "I've tried telling her, but it's not going in. She's still grieving, she's not thinking right.

"Aaron, I don't want to fight. I don't want any of this, it's got to stop."

But as Luke continued to try and convince Aaron that he and his mother didn't know anything about Lee's actions, Aaron was left struggling with his anger – and it wasn't long before Aaron was threatening Luke with a golf club in a rage.

"When are you going to get the message?" he demanded. "What's it going to take to get rid of you?"

But as a fight broke out between the two, a passing Liv heard the commotion and quickly jumped in to break it up only to end up in the crossfire as Aaron accidentally elbowed her in the face instead.

"It's only a bloody nose, I've had worse," Liv later told him. "It's what you were going to do to [Luke] that worries me. So much for being a better person.

"I thought you got over your demons?"

"I have but this is different," Aaron argued. "You've seen what they've done to our lives. I never meant for you to get hurt."

With tensions between the two families at a boiling point, Luke later told his mum that he couldn't live like this anymore, and urged her to leave the village with him.

Whether or not Wendy agrees to move remains to be seen, but future spoilers have shown that Aaron will spiral further later this month after receiving more bad news about his husband Robert Sugden, leaving his family concerned about his state of mind.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
