Emmerdale star Jeff Hordley has discussed Cain Dingle's upcoming surprising one-night stand with Kerry Wyatt.
Next week's scenes will see Moira, who previously had an affair with Nate Robinson, finding Cain and Kerry in the bedroom together, which leaves her devastated as she wants to fight for her and Cain's relationship.
Hordley explained that Cain chooses to sleep with Kerry partly because Moira doesn't give him the answers that "he wants to hear".
"There is a part of Cain that still wants to fight for his marriage," he said. "There is a series of scenes where they talk through things and Cain really wants to understand why Moira did this. Moira basically gives him answers, but not the ones he wants to hear.
"It's after these explanations from Moira... He's starting to hit self-destruct.
"Kerry is in the pub and she's a bit drunk, so she sits down next to him. The scenes are funny and charged.

"I think Kerry and Cain are both really damaged and don't really care about what's happening. They want to fight against the world after everything they've been through recently. So they have this one-night stand to help them get over what's been happening to them."

Hordley added that Cain "doesn't care" when he sees Moira upset by the one-night stand.
"He's glad to see her hurt," he said. "It pleases him for her to know how he felt.
"The consequences of this storyline sadly means that Cain and Moira are no more – and who knows if they will ever get back together."
Elsewhere, Hordley doesn't think that Cain is interested in reconciling with Nate at all, explaining: "As far as Cain is concerned, Nate is the reason that he's split up with his wife. So why would he ever invite somebody like that back into his life, who's essentially ruined his life? Regardless of whether he is blood."
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
