Emmerdale could be saying goodbye to another fan-favourite character.
The latest major cast member leaving the ITV soap is set to be Anthony Quinlan, who is being tipped to depart his role as Pete Barton by The Sun in order to devote more time to other projects.
Pete arrived in the Dales all the way back in 2013, and has been involved in major storylines over the years like a long-running feud with brother Ross (Michael Parr), the deaths of several loved ones and the infamous motorway crash.
He will soon be in the middle of drama once again when he becomes the first villager to find out about Moira (Natalie J Robb) and Nate's (Jurell Carter) long-running affair.
The ITV series is in the middle of a cast turnover, having recently lost major characters Frank Clayton (Michael Praed) and Megan Macey (Gaynor Faye) in the aftermath of the factory fire.
There will be more major exits to come — none bigger than the departure of Ryan Hawley as Robert Sugden, one-half of the soap's popular couple Robron.

In the coming months, Emmerdale will also be saying goodbye to Samantha Giles, who recently confirmed she was quitting as Bernice Blackstock to seek out "pastures new".
Also leaving screens will be the character Ellis Chapman, after actor Asan N'Jie's contract was "terminated with immediate effect" last month following a confrontation with Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas at the TV Choice Awards.
Emmerdale currently airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
