Tonight's (July 31) Emmerdale dealt with the brutal fight between Robert Sugden and Lee Posner, who turned up yesterday to demand money and taunt Victoria Barton over getting pregnant after he raped her.
Robert is released by the police, pending further investigation, while Lee is still in a coma in the intensive care unit. He tells Aaron Dingle and Victoria that he only attacked Lee with the shovel in self-defence, something Victoria also tells the authorities, although Lee will argue otherwise.

Things take a turn, however, when DS Wise turns up and tells Robert that Lee may never wake up from the coma. If that ends up being the case, it could mean that Robert will face an attempted murder charge... or worse.
With Robert's actor Ryan Hawley confirmed to be leaving the show, is this going to be how Robert exits the soap?
We'll have to wait and see how this plays out, but we know that next week brings drama of a different kind as the soap is set to revisit Robert and Aaron's surrogacy storyline.
