Emmerdale may have offered a secret hint that Eric Pollard will spark Maya Stepney's downfall.
Fans have been wondering who will catch out Maya (Louisa Clein) after her evil grooming of Jacob Gallagher has gone undetected in the village over the past few months.
Some viewers have speculated that Eric (Chris Chittell) could expose Maya's true colours – and a possible clue backing this up has now appeared on Emmerdale's official YouTube channel.
Friday night's episode (March 15) saw Jacob arrive at The Woolpack and complain that he'd been struggling with his homework.
Eric suggested that Maya might be able to help and the twisted schoolteacher ended up heading off with Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant).
Although this scene seemed pretty blink-and-you'll miss it at the time, Emmerdale has uploaded it to YouTube with the title: "Does Eric know something about Maya?"

So, could the show be hinting at a future plot development here?
It seems unlikely that Eric would have been so willing to let Maya and Jacob head off together if he knew the full story, but there have already been signs that he has his eye on David's villainous girlfriend.
When Maya and Jacob were having suspicious conversations at his 16th birthday party last month, Eric was seen watching on with interest. Perhaps he's slowly putting the pieces of the puzzle together?
With warnings that Maya's storyline will get even darker, let's hope that Eric really does get on the case and help to bring her to justice.
