EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders has confirmed an exciting change for Honey Mitchell, though she may have to work that little bit harder to enact it.

Since her wedding to Billy earlier this year, Honey has taken up a role as a market inspector in Albert Square. In a stroke of luck, the head market inspector, Mr Lister, announced his intentions to retire in the near future.

Though he delayed the move in order to secure the future of the market, the development marked a notable opportunity for Honey, and she has weighed up whether she wants to take the next step in her career.

She'll take the plunge in next week's scenes, with the character preparing to apply for the role as she meets with Mr Lister in the café. There could be a twist on the cards, however, as Zack Hudson gets job news of his own - did he apply for the same role?

While Honey and Zack could potentially be in a battle for the same job, there may be romance in the air for Zoe Slater when she makes a full-time return to East London, with the character set to be joined by former flame Anthony Trueman.

"I'm not sure for Zoe," teased actor Michelle Ryan, who returned to the BBC soap earlier this year after a 20-year absence. "I think there's a chance, but there's also a chance with other men."

EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
