EastEnders confirmed a shocking outcome to the feud between Howie Danes and Oscar Branning.
The latter returned to East London last month following an absence of eight years, though it has been far from smooth sailing as the cheeky chap has found himself in all sorts of trouble due to his shady past.
Earlier this week, Oscar stooped to a rather remarkable low as he attacked Patrick Trueman to gather his gambling winnings, with his sister Lauren being horrified by his actions. She urged him to go to the police, yet had a change of heart and provided him with an alibi.
Howie, however, pieced together the various clues from the attack and confronted Oscar, though he stopped short of going to the police under one condition - that Lauren and her brother hand him the money.

Lauren called Howie's bluff and said that he had no proof, with Thursday's episode (7 August) beginning as Oscar continued to fret over his involvement in the attack. Howie, meanwhile, was facing Kim's wrath, who implored him to find some money in the very near future.
After visiting Patrick in hospital, Howie attempted to secure some funds via some gambling of his own, though he got a stroke of luck later on as she spotted Oscar and Lauren reclaiming the money from a dustbin.

He soon retrieved the money, and went to Oscar and Lauren to confirm that he now held all the cards. After saying that he would be taking the money in exchange for his silence, Howie smugly walked away.
He saw Patrick at the hospital once more, though he expressed reluctance to return home as he feared for his safety following his attack. When will Patrick feel comfortable? And has Howie fully resolved his money issues?
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
