EastEnders has confirmed that Bernadette 'Bernie' Taylor will be leaving Albert Square soon.

That means that every member of the Taylor family will no longer be on the soap, bringing to an end the clan's eight years on the soap.

An EastEnders spokesperson announced actor Clair Norris' departure, stating: "We can confirm that Clair will be leaving EastEnders later this year and we wish her all the best for the future."

The Taylors first arrived in Walford in 2017, and have slowly left over the years.

Chantelle, who wasn't introduced until 2019, made her last appearance in 2020 when she was murdered by her evil husband Gray Atkins. Keegan Butcher-Baker departed in late 2022 with Tiffany.

Today's episode has confirmed that four more characters have left the soap, at least for now.

Stacey Slater has departed with Arthur and Hope in tow, while Lily has gone off on her own to go stay with her biological dad Ryan.

The BBC's Head of Continuing Drama Kate Oates recently teased that under new EastEnders boss Ben Wadey, a fan-favourite character is going to return.

While she didn't reveal which character, recent reports suggest that the mystery character is Max Branning.

EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
