EastEnders has aired another discovery for George Knight as he tries to get to the bottom of the mystery surrounding his adoption.
George was recently surprised by the arrival of his adoptive parents Gloria and Eddie in Walford, with George later being horrified to learn that they had adopted him through a process known as baby farming (where babies were sold to families looking for a child).
Determined to get to the bottom of his parent's visit, tonight's episode (January 3) saw George arrange to meet Cindy behind his wife Elaine's back. The exes then began researching the practice of baby farming in the UK.
However, their research soon led to another difficult realisation for George as Cindy revealed that the children advertised had been the children of African immigrants. That directly contradicted George's understanding that his biological family is of Jamaican heritage.

"Who actually told you that your biological parents were Jamaican?" Cindy asked, as George explained that his adopted mum had told him.
"I hate to tell you this, I think she was just telling you what you wanted to hear," she replied.
The weight of the revelation further devastated George, as he recalled his first experiences of racism while growing up as well as an argument with Eddie as a teenager where he told him he wasn't Jamaican.
"Now I realise he was telling the truth. Because you're right, it all fits," George told her. "My whole life... this has all been wrong. I've just been living a lie."

Back at the Vic, George was confronted by Elaine after realising he'd lied about his whereabouts. An emotional George confessed to his earlier meeting with Cindy before completely breaking down over the discoveries he'd made about his heritage.
"I don't know who I am anymore," he said as a concerned Elaine embraced him.
EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
