EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders has aired a gunshot mystery as Kat Slater battled DCI Keeble for their lives.
Wednesday's (January 4) episode ended on a chilling note as Kat and Keeble were seen scuffling over control of a gun, just before it went off.
The disturbing cliffhanger followed Kat and Tommy Moon being kidnapped by the crooked detective earlier this week as a means of Keeble getting revenge on Phil Mitchell.
Phil was understandably panicked when he found out about the kidnapping, though he admitted to Sam that even handing over the incriminating evidence to Keeble might not save Kat and Tommy's lives.

At the same time, Keanu Taylor was determined to right his wrongs by finding Kat and Tommy before they were hurt — even after Sharon begged him to stay out of the ordeal.
Keanu would join Sam At No55 to figure out a plan, when Tommy's half-brother Bert led them to a breakthrough by reminding them his sibling's smartwatch could be tracked.
When Sam and Keanu brought the breakthrough to Phil, the hardman ultimately agreed to let Keanu accompany him on the rescue mission since he was likely outnumbered.
Back at the warehouse, Kat had tried to get through to Keeble but ended up in a brawl with the detective once Keeble threatened Tommy with a gun.

Kat shoved Keeble up against a wall, where she knocked the gun out of the DCI's hands. Keeble scrambled to pick up the weapon, but as she continued to struggle with Kat, the soap cut away.
Viewers were taken to Keanu and Phil ready to storm the warehouse when they were stopped in their tracks by the sound of a gunshot.
