EastEnders newcomer Jessica Plummer – aka Karen Taylor's daughter Chantelle Atkins – has weighed in on fans' theories about her character's relationship, suggesting she'd be up for her on-screen husband having an affair.
Earlier this week, EE viewers were intrigued by a mysterious text on Ben Mitchell's phone. "Last night was hot. More later?" the message from 'Pecs Guy' read, complete with a suggestive emoji.
With many fans convinced that Ben's secret lover is none other than Chantelle's husband Gray, Jessica Plummer has now told The Sun that the soap's writers should take note.
"Oh my god, that would be awesome," the actress said, when the theory was presented to her. "Well, I'm not sure about Chantelle, but Jessica thinks that's awesome!
"If the writers haven't already thought of that, they should maybe consider it."
Jessica went on to hint that Chantelle and Gray's relationship isn't all that it seems, with Walford's latest resident promising "drama" sooner or later between them.

"It is EastEnders," she reasoned. "There's going to be drama, there's going to be something, or things, that come up."

Plummer later added that her co-star Toby-Alexander Smith (Gray Atkins) has the potential to become one of Albert Square's infamous villains. Reacting to predictions that Gray might one day become a killer, she said: "Toby is a fantastic actor so he could do it justice."
