The soap schedule has been up in the air recently, with sports coverage taking over our screens. Coronation Street and Emmerdale have both suffered on several occasions, due to coverage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Tonight will be no different, with both ITV soaps being removed the schedule due to the broadcaster's coverage of England vs Croatia. It's the same case on Thursday (18 June), with Switzerland vs Bosnia-Herzegovina being shown live.
Thankfully, normal service is resumed on Friday (19 June), with each soap returning to their traditional slots and running times. Emmerdale will air at 8pm before Corrie comes at 8.30pm, each episode running for 30 minutes.

Corrie fans will be keen to see what Carl Webster and Ronnie Bailey do following the scuffle at the garage. Carl was confronted by Kevin, with tensions flaring as Carl drew a gun on his half-brother.
Carl subsequently hid the firearm in the wheel arch of a car, before informing Fiona Morley of its location as he tried to end their partnership. However, as he stashed the gun, he didn't realise that he was being watched by Jodie Ramsey, who stole the weapon for herself.

Fiona, aware that the gun was missing, ordered Carl to find it - or he would pay, in some way. Unbeknownst to them, Ronnie and Debbie overheard this conversation, meaning several parties have some form of knowledge about the incident.
Over in the Dales, meanwhile, the hour-long instalment was just as dramatic, with Charity Dingle exposing a huge secret after Cain received some worrying news following his appointment at the hospital.

At the meeting, which Moira also attended, Cain was told by a specialist that his cancer may have spread. Reeling from the news, Moira paid a visit to Charity, who had been drinking heavily following her own personal troubles.
As they talked, Charity accidentally let slip that Cain had propositioned her while Moira was in prison. Moira was in bits following the revelation, but it remains to be seen if she can forgive her husband.
