Guilty Aadi Alahan is hauled in for questioning by the police on Coronation Street next week, just after he and Amy Barlow get hot and heavy under the sheets.

Can he talk his way out of being charged – or will his romance be over before it's properly begun?

Following a steamy bunk-up, smitten Aadi and Amy head back to the Alahan family home together – where they find Dev, Asha and policewoman Jess waiting on Aadi's arrival…

"It's the last thing that Aadi expects," our Corrie source explains. "The midsummer party seems like such a long time ago now, that you'd think if the police were going to do something about the drugs mix-up, Aadi would've heard from them already.

"But clearly something has changed for them to want to investigate this late in the game. It'll be interesting to see whether Aadi admits to an innocent mistake, or whether he digs an even bigger hole for himself…"

In the lead-up to this, Amy stumbles across Aadi sitting alone on a bench in Victoria Garden. It immediately becomes clear that Aadi isn't feeling himself, so she pulls him in for a hug and promises that she knows he's a kind-hearted man, who never intended to hurt Lauren Bolton the way he did.

Afterwards, the two pals make their way over to Amy's house. Once they arrive at No.1, Aadi musters up the courage to tell Amy that he wishes they were more than friends, which leads her to confess that she feels the same.

"It's a long time coming," our insider adds. "Aadi and Amy share a passionate kiss after admitting their feelings for one another, then one thing leads to another!

"They've been the 'will-they-won't-they?' couple of the Street for quite some time now, so it's sweet to see them properly act on their feelings. It's a shame that their moment is crushed so quickly by Jess's unexpected appearance…"

Later in the week, Aadi lands Brody Michaelis in trouble when he finds Bernie trying to persuade Dev to hire her grandson at the corner shop.

Mortified, Aadi reveals that Brody was responsible for bringing LSD along to the doomed party.

Given that we know Aadi is set to leave the cobbles, will he be dragged away from his family in handcuffs? Or will there be another twist that encourages him to leave Weatherfield behind?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
