Coronation Street has confirmed three soap legends for their upcoming live stage show An Audience with Coronation Street.

Earlier this year the soap made the announcement that a live stage show would be taking place featuring some of the show’s most-loved actors.

The new show, which sees This Morning soap expert Sharon Marshall take on hosting duties, will feature in-depth interviews between five Coronation Street stars live on stage at each performance.

Announcing three new soap icons today, Corrie confirmed that Barbara Knox, Bill Roache, and Amanda Barrie have been added to the lineup to share their stories from the cobbles.

Knox, who has played Rita Sullivan for over five decades, will be appearing in London and newly added Salford matinee shows.

She said: "I’ve always believed the magic of Coronation Street lives in the connection it has with its audience. After so many wonderful years on the cobbles, it feels very special and a little nerve-racking to be stepping out and sharing some of those memories face to face.

"I don’t often do things like this, but this show felt like the right moment to say thank you, and to celebrate everything Corrie has meant to all of us over the years."

Ken Barlow star Bill Roache, who has been on the soap since its first episode in 1960 is set to appear in the Salford evening show as well as the Sunderland date.

Roache said: "I’m truly looking forward to celebrating this incredible show, and all the people who’ve made it what it is, both on screen and watching at home."

Meanwhile, Barrie, who played Alma Halliwell between 1981 and 2001, will be appearing in the Sheffield and Glasgow dates.
