Coronation Street star Charlotte Jordan has requested a darker storyline for her character Daisy Midgeley.

The actress hosted a Q&A session on her Instagram Stories, where fans could ask her questions about her life and her work on the ITV soap.

She wrote: "Hair mask is in. We have 40 minutes to kill. Shall we have a wee chinwag?"

One such question was, "What is [your] dream storyline for Daisy to have?"

Although this was clearly in jest, Weatherfield has been home to quite a large number of killers, so it’s never beyond the realm of possibility.

Jordan has already been involved in some pretty dark storylines during her nearly four years playing barmaid Daisy, step-daughter of Jenny Connor.

Last year, the character went through a stalking ordeal, with Justin leaving her terrified to even leave the house.

On her wedding day to Daniel Osbourne, Justin attempted to throw acid on her, with Ryan Connor jumping in and facing the worst of the attack.

Daisy has most recently bought the Rovers with Jenny – using the money Stephen Reid stole from Underworld – and reopened the pub after months of closure.

But her personal life is looking a little more uncertain, as she split from fiancé Daniel after he discovered she had cheated on him with Ryan.

In December, Jordan spoke about what she’d like to see her character do next, asking the writers to give her more friends.

She said: "I’d like her to focus on the Rovers and focus on becoming a successful, mini, secret landlady.

"Selfishly, I’d get some scenes with more of the Platts. I’d like that. Start throwing Daisy into different social circles on the show."

She continued: "I’ve been asking them to make Daisy and Todd pals for yonks! Me, just desperately trying to get Daisy some friends!"

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
