Coronation Street stars Luca Toolan and Liam McCheyne have revealed their real-life friendship following the emotional scenes involving their characters.
The pair play Mason Radcliffe and Dylan Wilson respectively, with the drama escalating last night (November 22) as the former pulled a knife on Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall).
The duo shared behind-the-scenes photos to mark the traumatic scene, with Toolan sharing a photo of the trio on Instagram, writing: “Heavy ep tonight, but an important one - so lucky to have shared it with these lads and PA @karenlouise1306”

McCheyne also posted on social media, sharing a group photo on X (formerly known as Twitter), writing: “I promise we're mates, really! An important story being told.
“There are a few BTS pictures from tonight's episode. But a huge thank you and well done to everyone involved who made these scenes what they were.”

Toolan, who joined the ITV soap earlier this year, previously spoke about the heavy scenes in an exclusive interview with Digital Spy, revealing that he has a close friendship with Wrenshall.
“That scene was really interesting. Corrie gave us a period to rehearse it with a fight director,” he revealed. The director for these episodes, Penny Shales, was amazing – along with the 1st Assistant Director, Dayle Evans-Kar.

“We had that space to play around with it. On the day of filming, it was great because me and Charlie really have a great trust. That meant we could go to the dark place we needed to for these scenes, but also feel comfortable with it and not worry.
“It did get pretty dark. There were times before the scene where we decided not to speak to each other – we stayed in character because Charlie had to get to a very high emotional place.”
