Coronation Street reveals sad death in Fiz and Tyrone storyline

Coronation Street will air an unexpected death in a new storyline for Fiz and Tyrone Dobbs.

The couple are finally enjoying their domestic bliss after tying the knot on Christmas Day, but a twist casts a shadow on their family life in next week's episodes.

After discovering that Fiz's daughter Hope is still morbidly curious about her serial killer father John, Tyrone tries to take her mind off it by buying her a chinchilla. Cilla, however, will meet its fate in upcoming scenes when Hope agrees to look after Kirk Sutherland's dog, Peanut.

Attempting to keep Hope busy, Fiz suggests she could take care of Peanut in return for payment while Kirk and Beth are on holiday.

Things seem to go smoothly until it becomes clear that Peanut isn't a fan of Cilla the chinchilla. The dog growls at Cilla, catching Hope's attention. In her room, she's horrified to see the door to her chinchilla's cage open.

Panicked, Hope frantically looks for the chinchilla, letting out a scream when she finds it dead on the carpet. Meanwhile, Peanut watches on from her basket.

Cilla's death could be a setback in Hope's storyline, causing her to go back to obsessing over her murderous father and concerning Fiz and Tyrone.

Speaking with Digital Spy and other press, Corrie producer Iain MacLeod teased Hope's arc, saying: "Hope's behaviour will become increasingly difficult over the course of the year but there's also extremely light-hearted bits."
