Coronation Street has confirmed another worrying incident ahead in Max Turner's storyline.

The Weatherfield residents were rocked earlier this month when Griff Reynolds and his extremist gang made a thwarted attempt to set off a bomb at the community's Peace Market. Max had spent weeks aligning himself with the group, but raised the alarm at the last minute when he realised what they had planned.

The show has now revealed that a second sinister plan will unfold – this time organised by Max's former bully Blake.

In upcoming scenes, councillor Maria Connor hosts a drop-in session at Speed Daal for refugees. Maria has been stepping up her initiatives to help those in need, not wanting Griff to win after his recent attempts to spread hatred.

Daryan Zahawi hands out flyers for the event and suggests that Max might like to join them. Max, who's still being influenced the time he spent with Griff, is immediately disparaging and walks off.

Later, when back home, Max tunes into a racist rant that Blake has put online. In an ominous moment, Blake vows to put a stop to Maria's drop-in session.

As Blake secretly heads into Speed Daal, still secretly filming himself, it's clear that his target is Maria.

Maria delivers her speech and reaffirms her commitment to offer support to refugees, but will Max step in and tell anyone what Blake is up to?

While Corrie isn't disclosing exactly what happens next, Blake is later confronted by the police following an incident at the restaurant. When questioned over his actions, Blake makes out that Max's videos inspired him to go on a stabbing spree.

Max's dad David Platt fears the implications of this, so he calls solicitor Adam Barlow to the house and orders Max to show the videos in question.

Adam is horrified by the contents and warns Max that he could be charged with encouraging terrorism, which potentially leads to a 10-year sentence.

Soon enough, DS Swain arrives at the door and places Max under arrest on suspicion of incitement to murder.

Is Max heading to prison?
