Coronation Street star Julia Goulding welcomes second child and reveals name

Congratulations are in order for Coronation Street's Julia Goulding, who has welcomed her second child with husband Ben Silver.

The Shona Platt actress, who confirmed she was expecting back in June, shared that she had given birth to a baby girl, who they've named Emmeline Beanie Silver.

Sharing a picture on Instagram with Ben and their newborn, Julia wrote: "On Saturday our little girl arrived. We’re absolutely elated and Franklin is besotted with his little sister, Emmeline Beanie Silver. She’s perfect."

The star has received a host of congratulations from fellow Corrie stars past and present, with Paddy Bever (Max Turner) calling it "the most amazing news!".

Elle Mulvaney (Amy Barlow) said: "Congratulations," while Charlie De Melo (Imran Habeeb) added: "So so pleased. Mozel tov!".

Julia revealed she would be having a second child at the British Soap Awards over the summer, saying at the time it was hard to keep quiet before the announcement.

"It's been quite hard to keep it secret and they've dug out my maternity clothes from three years ago, so it's all systems go again," she told OK!.

"It's generally up to the director or costume department to sort of try and conceal it a bit. Obviously, I'm not as big, I'm used to being a lot bigger when I had Franklin. So yeah, it's been alright so far, we've managed to keep it to ourselves. I think we've done something right, thank goodness!"

Julia and Ben are parents to son Franklin Wolf, who was born in November 2019.
