Coronation Street reveals a possible accomplice for scheming Fern Lindon next week.

Fern recently committed the perfect crime by posing as her lookalike Bernie Winter while stealing thousands of pounds' worth of jewellery from a shop.

Bernie was later arrested over the incident and is due to appear in court for a plea hearing. The police have refused to believe Bernie's protestations of innocence, especially as she's struggling to prove that Fern exists.

Upcoming episodes see Bernie track down Fern's ex-husband Howard at a country club. Howard confirms that Fern is a con artist, so Bernie begs for his help.

Next week, Bernie teams up with Howard and Dev Alahan to draw out Fern with false claims of a lottery win.

With help from Gemma and Paul, the group stage a fake lottery winner's party and post pictures on social media.

Howard soon shares the news that Fern has been in touch and wants to meet him in the Freshco's car park.

Sadly, Bernie's plan suffers a setback while she waits at a bus stop. A van pulls up and a man jumps out, throwing a bag over Bernie's head and bundling her into the back of the vehicle.

Bernie screams with terror, worried about how much danger she's in.

Later in the week, Howard pays a return visit to Number 5 and mentions the value of the stolen jewellery.

Gemma immediately becomes suspicious, pointing out that only someone connected to the crime would know the value of the loot.

Was Howard involved in Fern's deception?
