Coronation Street recently welcomed back Martin Hancock as Geoffrey Nugent, or Spider as we all know him as.

The classic character has reconnected with his former flame Toyah, and she trusted him enough to open up about wanting to kill husband Imran in the car accident... unfortunately for her, he's working as an undercover police officer with DS Swain, who is suspicious about the circumstances surrounding Imran's death.

Now that Spider has returned, it feels like other Corrie favourites could also make a comeback. Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, Hancock revealed who he'd love to return the most.

"Oh gosh, if I could bring back another Corrie character, it would be Curly Watts," he said. "Kevin Kennedy [who played Curly] was so much fun to work with. If you were lucky enough to have scenes with him, you never stopped laughing. So to have him back would be lovely."

Outside of Corrie, Hancock is also known for playing Reg Lund in Holby City. Reflecting on the show, that came to an end earlier this year, he said: "That was a fun job, you do lots of heavy serious things on-screen; but off camera, everyone's mucking around. I think one of my favourite scenes was filming with Ade Edmondson [who played Abra Durant].

"We were both doing surgery and the idea of Vyvyan from The Young Ones and Spider from Coronation Street operating on someone's heart was quite surreal. The other part of it I loved was the prosthetics, they were amazing if you loved a bit of gore!"

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
