Coronation Street star Adam Hussain hints at dramatic Aadi and Kelly week

Coronation Street star Adam Hussain has revealed that his character Aadi Alahan will feature in more dramatic scenes later this year.

Aadi recently got engaged to Kelly Neelan in heartwarming scenes. However, viewers know that a happy ending for the pair seems unlikely as Millie Gibson – who plays Kelly – has recently left the ITV soap.

Some reports have suggested that Kelly is at risk of being killed off in her final storyline, but the Corrie team is currently keeping tight-lipped.

In an exclusive new chat with Inside Soap magazine, Adam suggested that fans should prepare themselves for some unmissable scenes.

He teased: "There's another 'Super Soap Week' in autumn, which Aadi and Kelly are part of.

"I was in the thick of the big week last year with the crash where Aadi thought he was going to die.

"Aadi and Kelly genuinely love each other, but we know Kelly is leaving soon, and all I can say is there are external factors that could break up that relationship. Be prepared!"

Tanisha Gorey, who plays Aadi's sister Asha, joked: "You're bringing all the bad luck, Adam! I think you're cursed…"

Digital Spy understands that the dramatic week in question will air in September.

Adam, Tanisha and their on-screen father Jimmi Harkishin (Dev) are interviewed and photographed in Inside Soap's new issue to celebrate their nominations at this year's Inside Soap Awards.

The Alahans are up for the Best Family prize at the ceremony, while Jimmi is also in the running for Best Comic Performance.

Asked about the Alahans' popularity among viewers, Jimmi replied: "It's the sibling rivalry between these two! Asha is the pushy one, and it's a running thing that Aadi feels he doesn't get the same treatment. I think he's just oversensitive and paranoid!

"I'm a father and it's very relatable, that competition within the family dynamic. Who's the smartest? Who's the favourite? The writers have probably felt or observed it themselves, which is why it comes across as so real."
