Coronation Street's Stu makes shocking new discovery

Stu Carpenter has made a shocking discovery in Coronation Street following his release from prison.

In tonight's (August 24) episode, Stu left the prison to find Yasmeen Metcalfe waiting for him. Yasmeen told him that she believed he was innocent but she could only offer him friendship.

"We are all going to work really hard to clear your name," she said.

Yasmeen's granddaughter Alya swore to get Stu professional help from a solicitor to fight his case.

With encouragement from Yasmeen, Stu went to visit his daughter Bridget. When he knocked on the door, Bridget's daughter Eliza answered and Stu discovered that he was a grandfather.

Stu, who was unaware of her existence, asked: "Is that my grandchild?"

Bridget slammed the door in her father's face but he told her that he never murdered Charlie. Their conversation was cut short by the arrival of her mum, Lucy, who was furious to see him standing on the driveway.

A hostile Dev and Bernie weren't happy to see Stu back on the street and told him to leave so a defiant Yasmeen said he could move back in with her.

Elsewhere, Aadi and Kelly took part in a quiz where they both revealed that they'd never had a sexual relationship. After that, Aadi leaned in and kissed her which led to the pair sleeping together.

Meanwhile, Sarah pressured Carla to hire Stephen on a consultancy basis despite her reservations. Peter and Ken convinced Carla to give him a shot. Stephen later urged Sarah to take out a loan and expand the business herself.

Later on, after Gemma and Paul's birthday celebration, Summer swore to make it up to Aaron for ruining their holiday.

A strapped-for-cash Bernie was offered a cleaning job by Dev after she mistakenly thought he was soliciting her for sex.
