Coronation Street seemingly wrapped up one of its most intriguing storylines this evening (October 19) when Eileen Grimshaw confronted gangster Mick about Todd.

Since he returned to the cobbles, Todd (Gareth Pierce) has been lying low at Eileen's in an attempt to avoid Mick Costello (Neil Bell), his former lover-turned-enemy. Turns out, he and Mick used to date but Todd stole money from him and took off.

Despite Todd's efforts to hide, Mick found him and threatened both his ex and Eileen (Sue Cleaver) with a gun. Later, she tried to call him to try and settle their differences once and for all, but that plan backfired in a big way so she decided to have it out with him face-to-face in tonight's episode.

"Shut up, the pair of you," Eileen shouted at Mick and her son, as they started bickering on the street. "I know he's no angel but you've got plenty of reason to hold a grudge...

"Erik's a good bloke, anyone can see that and he loves the bones of you," she went on, referencing the husband Mick cheated on with Todd, whom she'd recently met after he picked up the phone when she rang the baddie's home.

"See this whole mess as a wake-up call. You've got a daughter coming soon, I could've landed you in it with Erik when he came. How about you return the favour, eh? Go away, be happy and leave us alone."

Miraculously, her plan to talk him round worked and Mick agreed to call it quits when it came to his vendetta, stating: "You're off the hook but if I ever see you again, all bets are off." All's well that ends well, eh?

Elsewhere, Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) was shocked to discover that Todd was still alive, having believed him dead, and that he had just abandoned their adopted daughter Summer all those years ago.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV.
