Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street villain Ray Crosby finalises an alliance with Gary Windass tonight (October 19) as his masterplan continues to take shape.

Ray (Mark Frost) is on a mission to buy up the various properties and businesses on the Street, as part of a long-term plan to bring in the bulldozers and build a modern new development.

In Monday's double bill, Ray calls Gary (Mikey North) for a meeting after his fellow schemer recently offered to get involved with the plan.

Gary's wife Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) is feeling resentful towards the Platts, so she encourages him to take the job with Ray, regardless of the consequences for the family.

Relieved that he has Maria's blessing, Gary has another meeting with Ray and once again pitches himself as the best person to oversee the project.

Gary points out that, as well as having the building knowledge, he has a personal connection to the Street. This makes him perfectly placed to persuade the locals to sell their houses and businesses.

Ray is clearly impressed by Gary's passion for the project and agrees to give him the contract.
