Back in May 2017, Sonia described being part of the ITV soap as "an absolute honour".

"I was literally over the moon and I cried my eyes out when my agent told me [I was joining]!" she said at the time while speaking to Digital Spy. "It's such an amazing place to work and it's been an honour to be here.

"I was really excited to meet everybody, because I'm a fan of Coronation Street and I watch the show anyway."

Coronation Street currently airs Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV.
