Coronation Street and Emmerdale have confirmed when they will be returning to six episodes a week.
Announcing its 2020 autumn schedule, ITV revealed that viewers of both soaps will be able to enjoy their regular schedules from mid-September.
The broadcaster added that Coronation Street and Emmerdale will "continue to film safely whilst adhering to the health and safety guidelines issued by the film and TV industry", and thanked ITV's managing director for continuing drama John Whiston as well as the "dedicated and hard-working production teams, crews, writers, and actors".

Both soaps have been airing three episodes a week since March. The decision was taken at the time to ensure that they would remain on TV screens in the summer, as filming was disrupted amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Coronation Street and Emmerdale have addressed the coronavirus in recent weeks. In addition to a number of references to COVID-19 such as businesses focusing on takeaway services, Emmerdale aired a number of special lockdown episodes last month.

Back in June, Whiston shared that the plan was to have a number of episodes in reserve in case a second lockdown happens.
"We will start producing more and build a buffer," he said at the time. "The fear is a second lockdown where we'd have to close again."
Coronation Street and Emmerdale currently air Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays on ITV.
