Coronation Street's Andy Whyment has revealed what his favourite storyline on the soap has been over the 20 years that he's played Kirk Sutherland.
With two decades on the cobbles under his belt he's got a lot to choose from, but the star picked out a very romantic moment as his all-time favourite to play as lovable Kirk.
"I think Kirk getting married to Beth (Lisa George) has been my favourite storyline because I never thought Kirk would get married," he told OK! magazine. "He has always been unlucky in love. People always compare Kirk and Beth to Jack and Vera Duckworth but, in my eyes, there will only ever be one Jack and Vera."

The actor, who came second in 2019's series of jungle reality show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, originally only signed up to appear in seven episodes of the ITV soap but he's said that he's very grateful to have ended up becoming a fixture on the cobbles.
"I still get a buzz now when I drive up to the studio gates and they lift the barriers for me," he said. "I am still a massive fan of the show and it's a privilege to have been there this long."

With veteran star Bill Roache having played Street stalwart Ken Barlow for 60 years and counting, Whyment has a little while to go before he catches up to the soap's longest-running actor.
He reckons that's unlikely to happen, but he certainly doesn't have any plans to depart Weatherfield any time soon.

"I don't think that's (equalling Roache's record) ever going to happen, nobody can touch Bill, but I certainly have no desire to leave. When I came out of the jungle, people asked me if I wanted to do other things but I don't," he said.
"Coronation Street has always been my bread and butter and I'm very lucky that I enjoy what I do. You can't ask for more than that. Also when I was in The Royle Family and filming in London, I couldn't wait to get home and realised how much of a northern boy I am."
Whyment also revealed that Corrie could be making some big changes when it returns to filming, saying that the writers have been "rewriting all the scripts".
Coronation Street currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV.
