Next week's Coronation Street is going to have a nasty surprise in store for David Platt, as he's held at knifepoint by muggers.
This week's run of episodes sees Shona Ramsey unable to remember David after the events of Christmas and tell him that she wants a divorce, which sends him into a downward spiral of drinking and almost having a rebound with Alina Pop.
The official Coronation Street site has now revealed that this leads to an argument with Gail next week, after which David storms out and starts to wander the streets boozing. Then a group of hooded men jump out and pull a knife on him. Will David be okay?
David's actor Jack P Shepherd has spoken about the dark place David is in at the moment, stating: "David is breaking down and this is really affecting him, but he is not letting anybody see him or letting anyone in.

Due to current circumstances, Corrie has reduced how many episodes it will air a week, while scripts have been rewritten and, as of today (March 23), filming has been suspended.
Coronation Street will air Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights at 7.30pm on ITV from March 30.
