Coronation Street was a cauldron of revelations tonight (March 4) as Shona stabbed her son Clayton and now her partner David is readying himself to pop the big question.
During Monday's double-bill of the soap, Shona faced a devastating decision after her serial killer son had her held hostage. As the drama unfolded, Shona's scream could be heard – with her staggering out of the building covered in blood.
But luckily for David, history wasn't repeating itself, as Shona then admitted that the blood staining her skin and clothes was in fact Clayton's.
After a little while spent speaking to the police, Shona learned that she wouldn't be punished for her violent actions – with the self-defence act coming in handy.
David's emotions definitely got the better of him tonight, as he waited to hear the verdict from Shona with his brother Nick. Gail also helped out as her son sat there in bits, offering her own reflection on why she's never liked the police force.
(It had something to do with a shoplifting incident during her youth.)

Back at the house, David revealed to Nick his romantic wedding plans for him and Shona – hoping that a drastic show of affection could stop her from crumbling over the unfortunate Clayton situation.
