Emmerdale star Jurell Carter has revealed he initially auditioned for a different role.
The actor plays Nate Robinson on the ITV soap, but speaking recently he explained that he first tried out for the role of bad boy Billy Fletcher.
Jurell of course lost out on that role to Jay Kontzle, but he impressed casting bosses so much that they invited him back to play Nate.
So, in Jurell's own words, "it all worked out".

"I was seen for the part of Billy and was a bit gutted when I didn't get it," Jurell told the Daily Star.

"I'd also met Jay during the audition process.
"But now, having watched Billy's character develop, I was definitely more suited to Nate. So it all worked out.
"I'm still the same Jurell but sometimes I forget that I'm on this massive show. I'll be at home in Leicester in my local supermarket and just forget."

The revelation follows Jurell speaking out on Nate and Cain's huge showdown.
