Director Edgar Wright is back with his take on Stephen King's dystopia in The Running Man, which has just released a first hectic trailer.
A remake of the 1987 movie which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as the lead, the upcoming action-packed flick features Glen Powell as protagonist Ben Richards.
As the US has become a police state, Ben takes part in the titular reality TV show to earn freedom, wealth and security for his family.
The unhinged premise of the show, produced by Dan Killian (Josh Brolin) and hosted by Bobby Thompson (Colman Domingo), sees contestants agreeing to being hunted down by killing stalkers who'll stop at nothing to find them.
As the entire 30-day chase is televised, Ben has no place to hide, but can count on the unexpected help of some pretty interesting characters he meets along the way, including oddballs played by Michael Cera and William H Macy.

The cast is as stacked as they come, with the film marking another collaboration for Wright and Cera, who starred in the writer-director's 2010 Scott Pilgrim vs The World. And to add the cherry on top of the Scott Pilgrim reunion, Wright co-wrote The Running Man with Michael Bacall, his writing partner on the beloved graphic novel adaptation.
Also starring are Sinners star Jayme Lawson as Ben's wife Sheila Richards, Lee Pace and Karl Glusman in the roles of hunters, and Love Lies Bleeding star Katy O'Brien in that of a Running Man contestant.
CODA's Emilia Jones stars as a civilian taken hostage by Ben, with Sean Hayes and Daniel Ezra also featuring in supporting roles.

The trailer reveals some epic stunts, with Ben having to fight his way out of a flying plane in a tense scene. In another sequence, he's chased down a building corridor only to slide through an elevator shaft and being left to deal with a live grenade.
Powell, who appears to be having a bloody good time as Ben, has proved his talent for action capers in a few titles of recent years, including Top Gun: Maverick, Hit Man and disaster movie sequel Twisters.
The Running Man is scheduled to be released on November 7.
